Hi everyone, im currently finalizing a new rig im building, and im struggling with how much of a PSU should i buy. The specs are the following:
-i7 9700K (will overclock)
-RTX 2080 super (will overclock)
-2x8gb ddr4 ram (with RGB lighting)
-Samsung 860 evo 1TB SSD
-Corsair H100i RGB Pro (will use RGB lighting)
-Gigabyte z390 Aorus Pro
-gaming mouse, monitor (144hz) and keyboard

I was thinking about 850W (I tend to prefer overkill because budget is not a problem). What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Solution
With a very good quality psu you could get buy with a 550w but if you are overclocking look for a 650w or more. A good 850w will work.

Remember quality and wattage are both important.

What is your budget for a psu?

If you gonna do intense overclocking with your GPU and CPU, I would suggest using a 1000 watt. With that rig, of course, you will set up maybe more than 2 monitor screens and tons of RGB accessories. 850 watt could do it tho, but to be safe 1000 watt might be the best choice for you since the budget is not a problem for you. One more thing, upgrade your ram, those specs but 16gb of ram? Adding an extra 16gb won't be that hard, isn't it?

I was thinking about 200 usd max, so I could get a 1000W gold plus psu like the EVGA G2/Corsair RM1000x or I could go for a 850W platinum plus PSU like the EVGA P2/Corsair Hx 850. Thoughts?
