Power Supplies that work with a Dell Optiplex 755???

I need to know some power supplies that work with my Dell Optiplex 755. The one that came with the computer is only a 108w and i want a bigger one around the 500w range. Any suggestions????

The Dell OptiPlex 755 Desktop Computer uses a custom form factor power supply made specifically for that computer case design. You won't be able to find any off-the-shelf power supplies that you can replace it with.

If you are planning on upgrading the PSU for adding a more powerful gfx card, the PCIe x16 slot in slim lines is usually limited to 35W rather than the normal 75W. And no slim line PSU is bigger than 350W that I am aware of. You will be better off to save up for a new build if you want to play current gen games at 1080p.

If you are planning on upgrading the PSU for adding a more powerful gfx card, the PCIe x16 slot in slim lines is usually limited to 35W rather than the normal 75W. And no slim line PSU is bigger than 350W that I am aware of. You will be better off to save up for a new build if you want to play current gen games at 1080p.

i play skyrim in 1280x1024 with my current setup. but i was just wanting a bigger PSU just incase i want a bigger graphics card

It's a custom form factor. Note the L shape. The notch taken out of the back of the PSU is where the part of the optical drive bay occupies some space.

Mini-tower: 305W
Desktop: 280W
Small Form Factor: 275W
Ultra Small Form Factor: 220W

Ah. Yes. I was thinking it was a typical TFX. When I looked up Dell Optiplex 755 PSU, I came across a std TFX. But it probably wasn't for the Desktop model. That PC was made in 4 different variations. Good to know.

Page 6 shows the power supply size and page 28 shows the Desktop Tower (that lays flat) is the one with the 108w which is the combined Max Combined +3.3v / +5.0v Power.

Upgrading the power supply or video card isn't looking good.

actually no it runs 40-50 fps no problems and is playing on high settings

Thanks for the link. Page 28 in that link shows the desktop has a 280W PSU. I think the OP was confusing the 108W with total wattage. Nevertheless, a single 16A +12V rail won't be enough for a decent upgrade.

The upper limit to that type of power supply is 300 Watts and even if you could squeeze in a 20 watts larger power, larger video cards won't fit.

Someone on the dell forums said about about being able to squeeze in a non L shape power supply by removing the optical disk drive, but I am not even sure what form factor the L shaped power supply is.

If it had a 2nd 16A +12V rail, I'd suggest the low profile Galaxy GTX 750 Ti. But a single 16A rail won't do it.
