Hi guys! Today I faced a problem with my PC....
The pc was off since sunday and today when I pushed the power on button, the case leds blinked for a second but nothing happened. No fan was powered. No signs of powering on....
I took a look and the motherboard leds were on, but everytime I push the power on button nothing happens, nothing change....

Then I did all these checks:
  1. Unplug power cable
  2. Short the motherboard jumpers to power on the PC manually (in case the power button is broken)
  3. Unplug RAM, VGA and even CPU
  4. Look for burn components in motherboard

Nothing worked.

Then I did two more checks:
1. Connect another power supply to my pc (one microatx I have for another low specs pc)

This result in the same results: Motherboard leds ON but nothing happened when push the power button

2. Connect my power supply to the low spec PC

The low spec pc powered on for less than a second (fans powered in bot nothing more) Powersupply fashon led power on aswell and then shutdowns.

With all this information... what do you thing will be the problem? Power supply? Motherboard? I ordered another powersupply already to do the check but...

These are my specs:

Asus ROG Strix Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming 8GB GDDR5
EVGA Supernova GS 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular
G.Skill Ripjaws V Black DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16
Asus Z170 PRO GAMING
Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Try to do paper clip test, if it fails i would look for RMA
https://www.silverstonetek.com/downloads/QA/PSU/PSU-Paper Clip-EN.pdf
That could indicate PSU issue that you've described.
