Hi guys,

So immediately when I purchased my PC a year or so ago, I used the wrong power cord for about a week.

One like that. I used the one from my old acer on my Corsair TX 650.

I must have used it for about a week before realising, and switching to the correct one. I am in the process of replacing the CPU and motherboard for something new as they were already having problems. What I want to know is could this have caused any damage? As far as I can remember the voltages always read pretty normally in HWMonitor. The only blatant problem is a case of coil whine, that seems to correspond sometimes with mouse movements, and when the CPU begins to idle.

I'm on quite a tight budget and don't want to spend any money on a new PSU if it's not necessary. Thanks.
This forum already helped me pick out my new CPU and motherboard, it's been a great help.
