I have a new mobo - MSI Z790 A-MAX WiFi.
I have an existing power supply -
Cooler master RS600 PCAR E3 (ATX 12V v2.3).
  1. Is the PSU compatible with the mobo. PSU is older than 7 years, probably much older. Can I use this PSU or should I use a different one?
  2. The mobo is having 8+8 pins for cpu power. However, the PSU has 4+4 pins named P2, P3. How can this be compatible?
Note: 600W is more than sufficient power for my needs.

That PSU is not something I'd call a PSU. I'd invest in a relialby built PSU and call it a day. What GPU are you looking to pair with the build?

Wattage isn't the only thing you look at when investing in a PSU. If wattage was what we looked at, we'd be buying Raidmax PSU's(from the 2000's) a dime a dozen and using them to power 4090's.

Where are you located, what is your budget for PSU purchase and what is your preferred site for purchase? If you're working with a small form factor case, please include it in case we need to scope out SFX PSU's for your build.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I am using internal graphics. No GPU. May not get one in the future either.

I have another PSU which is under repair and should be back in 1-2 weeks .

While I'm waiting for the PSU to be fixed, I would like to know if I can use the PSU mentioned in my previous post. This is just a temporary workaround while waiting for the newer and modular PSU.

I have a case which can fit an ATX board and i Live in India.

Is at least 15 years old and was even terrible when it was new. Very low quality, group regulated, terrible voltage regulation, 2 fake 12v rails, voltage switch, no APFC, missing essential protection features. This is probably the worst Cooler Master PSU that has seen the light. Don't use it under any circumstances.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I guess I will have to refrain from using it.

Do you have any suggestions what to get?

This is where I get my products from. My preferred budget is 7000.

How about this one...?
