Question Power Supply explode, no smoke only sound

Hi community,

Today my PSU explode without any apparently reason, but I cant see smoke or any sign of the failure, when I extract them from the case drop this:

Any idea what happened with my power supply? I have the pc connected to a voltage regulator.

That to me looks like a mosfet or something that failed and exploded.

I would replace the unit.

Not the best picture so I can't tell if that's a diode or a transistor, but that's the most common failure of a PSU is one of those exploding, even though most people think power supplies are boxes of capacitors.

Replace the PSU.

Given the information online, that is a mosfet/transistor. It SHOULD have been attached to a heatsink, so it must have exploded pretty bad to become loose.

I have a bad camera 😬, but it has written GPT10N50ADG.

Ugh... Champion MOSFET used for a main switcher. One of the reasons I don't like Seasonic.
