Hey guys,
Yesterday I tried to turn my computer on with no luck and after testing the power supply on another older PC I got to the conclusion it was the problem so this morning I went out and got me a new one and the computer seemed to turn on. However after spending 4 or 5 hours trying to figure out how to get everything working again it seems some Mobo components are not working. These components are:
- all 6 USB ports in the back
- all audio ports in the back
- all 3 usb 3.0 headers in the board
- audio port header connected to front pannel
What seems to be working:
- ethernet port in Mobo
- VGA port for integrated graphics
- PCI slot with gtx660
- SATA ports (all 4 that are on)
- RAM slots
- CPU and it's fan
- 2 usb ports in the front panel
Strangely I have also been unable to get a powered USB hub to work with the working usb ports.
Not tested: Firewire port, HDMI/DVI/DP in Mobo.
Hardware:
Mobo: Gigabyte z77x ud5h LGA1155
CPU: i7 3770
gfx: Gigabyte gtx660 2gb
HHD: 2 Samsung 840 SSD's and 2 Seagate HDDs
OS: dual boot Windows 7 and hackintosh OSX Mavericks (in separate drives)
PSU: Thermaltalke Smart 750W 80plus Bronze
(Old PSU was a Thermaltalke 700W Litepower)
My system was running perfectly beforehand so I have been getting extremely frustrated that the mobo seems to be failing. Any tips or advice for me to try and fix the issues? Is it possible the mobo got damanged when the PSU died/failed? Would it be possible that I got a "faulty new" psu?
Thanks in advance for any help
