Suggestions on good quality, but affordable units - https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/nB3RsY,3hkwrH...
Those are mixed suggestions. You have a low quality PSU, the S12ii which is also overpriced, two good budget PSUs, the Corsair CX, and a very high quality PSU, The Seasonic Focus.
The Seasonic Focus 550 and Bitfenix Formula 550 (not modular) are great deals for $60 USD without MiR.
If you cannot afford that, look at the Corsair CX / CXM grey label, be Quiet Pure Power 10 500, Coolermaster MasterWatt 550, as budget options.
Big difference between low quality and S12II. Yes, there is some variation in them, but all of them are good quality, some better than others, and all are affordable.
*Are you the one I've already had this argument with about the S12II?

Summary
In what is likely the highest scoring group regulated unit I have ever tested, Seasonic has something really special here. A nice, quiet, efficient, and well performing unit that is affordable for just about any budget. Go forth and buy one, loyal readers.
The Good:
easily held Bronze efficiency, even to unrealistically low load levels
extremely low ripple and noise for a mid grade unit
nice documentation
a shallow unit for space challenged cases
looks great
The Bad:
let's get rid of that zip tie around the cables outside the case, shall we?
The Mediocre:
nothing
*I'll admit, things tend to change over time, and that unit is rather old. But, it has stood the test of time and shows to be a good quality unit. Which is unlike the old Corsair CX430, CX500, CX600 units that also scored fairly well on JohnnyGuru, they have proven to fail at quite a high rate over the years.
