Hey Guys,

Thinking about upgrading to a gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 and don't really want to upgrade my PSU. Won't be doing any over clocking and not very intense gaming. (World of Warcraft, diablo 3, mass effect if that ever launches)

Below is my current set up. Think it will all be ok?

Maverick S 500w PSU
H97 MSI Gaming 3 mobo
16gb RAM
2tb HDD
128gb SSD
GeForce gt740
Intel i7 4790

Don't think I'm missing anything

FYI I live in Macau, which you would think is easy and cheap to get PC parts, it's actually more expensive and haven't managed to find a website that ships to here, the postal service here sucks, will take like 2-3 days to get from Europe to Hong Kong, then about 2 weeks to do the 1 hour trip from Hong Kong to Macau.

Anyway. Input will be greatly appreciated.

On another note a GTX 960 is 1700mop, GTX 970 is 2900mop. Is it really worth almost double the price?

You will be fine with upgrading to the 970. 500W is enough power and the unit you have is decent. Not the best quality but will do a good enough job.

Whether you should get a 960 or 970 you have to decide for yourself. A 960 will run WOW, D3 nicely at 1080p, even the most demanding games at up to high settings.
The 970 is much better on the other hand, but also more expensive. If you will play demanding games in the future, you're best with off with the 970, but if you're sure you will only play games like D3, you will do fine with the 960.
