Power supply +graphic card

Why would a 600W power supply not be fine for him when an overclocked GTX 1080 would use under 250W? (he does need to specify the rest of the system still admittedly)


He already owns the PSU, so him deciding to buy the PSU initially isn't too relevant anymore.

Me, personally, I don't really buy my PSUs expecting to have a second graphics card. I prefer to stick to a single GPU and get a power supply that fits my system's needs at the time.
 


Also, if the PCIe cables that plug into the GPU from the power supply are "split", as in one wire splits into two of them, I'd be more weary of overclocking then, just a heads up. A lot of power on one cable can sometimes melt connectors; GPU miners are familiar with this. But if the cables are separate and not cheaply made it's usually all fine.
 


We're all unique in that we recommend different things. I'm not going to try to change your recommendations, so I respect where we differ in matters of opinion.
 


I disagree that 750W is best (I don't think it's possible to conclude that a single wattage would be best for that particular thing), but I feel like a discussion on this would be better elsewhere.
