Power Supply Help

So I recently bought my first part to my computer which is only the case but its a step. I was right about to buy the power supply when I realized that about a year ago I bought an antec earthwatts 500w powersupply. I was wondering if I should just go ahead and buy the corsair cx 500 i was going to get or if I could just use the power supply I have right now. Any help would be great.

If it works and you do not need more than 500w keep your old antec power supply. Use the extra money to buy more memory for your build.

cx 500 isnt any better than antec earthwatt 500. stick with antec 500

if your pc need better quality psu, go for at least XFX 550, seasonic S 620, or even gold rated psu

CPU: AMD Fx 6300 Vishera @ 3.5
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A
RAM: Ripjaws X Series 8gb
HDD: Western Digital 1TB
GPU: MSI R9 270
Case: Rosewill Challenger ATX Mid

On pcpartpicker says estimated wattage is 344w so 500 is really all I need. The only other thing I need to get is a monitor, but if i'm not spending $50 on a psu that will be nice. Thanks for your help also!

R9 270 has a 450w recommendation and requires one 6pin pcie power cable so your psu with 2x6pin is more than sufficient to run your hardware.no need to upgrade

IF you want to overclock you may be able to also, but I would rather just get a nicer cpu than spending more money to overclock.
