Power supply help

I'm getting a new GTX 1060 and I would like a 500w+ psu (I plan on upgrading my cpu) but I can't seem to find any psu's with a 6 pin connector any recommendations would be amazing

you can get a evga 500b or corsair cx550 if you are budget tight, if you have more budget

seasonic focus plus 550w, corsair rmx 550 and evga 550g3 are excellent PSUs.

I think that what you will find more of these days is the 6+2 pin layout. It allows you to use the 8 pin if you need it, but if you don't 2 pins separate and just sit to the side allowing you to use only the 6 pins. It allows makers to get away with having less cables, which is good for cable management, but you'll have to get creative to hide the little 2 pin connector hanging off of it if you are looking to make a super clean windowed PC.

My current build doesn't require extra connectors such as an 8 pin or 6 pin so i have little idea on what to look for when it comes to thoes

The cheapest decent psu out there is the corsair cx550/m with the silver/black label.

What are your components & planned gpu ??

The 450w model of the same Psu may well be enough.
