Power supply incompatible with GPU...

I bought the parts of this build for my very first build- http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ym6CVn Everything went smoothly save for afterwards realising the power supply has 6 pin pieces, and my graphics card needs an 8 pin pieces. I've found an adapter- http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Express-Power-Adapter-PCIEX68ADAP/dp/B001TK3TJY But I am unsure if using this would be unsafe or not and if I should return the power supply (if I can) and get a new one. Would buying the adapter work? Or should I go ahead and buy another power supply entirely?

(Also, before anyone gets mad, this was my very first build & before I had bought all the parts there seemed to have been NO errors. I'm also not sure what PCpartpicker is talking about with the gpu being too big because for me it fit just fine.)
It also states a problem with needing another 6 pin connector... though I don't know where as I was able to find a plug for everything but the 8 pin GPU port.
I also don't know too much about power supplies or super technical terms in regards to all this so... explain to me like I'm 5, basically.

Solution
That PSU should have the pcie connections you need for the 280, it has 1 6pin that you have found and the 8pin you are looking for will be a 6+2pin not a solid 8pin connector.

Oh, that's awesome! I'll check in the morning since its 5.30 am here and I'm about to sleep, thank you!
