I currently have a Corsair CX750M psu, and am expecting a new GPU in the mail today that requires one 8pin and one 6pin power connector. I have open the correct 6+2 PCIE port, but I'm not sure if I put the 6pin in a peripheral and sata port or the 4+4 cpu port. I'm assuming that since it's a peripheral and not a cpu that it goes in the peripheral port, but just want to make sure before I go plugging things in.

Solution
Both your PCIe cables have two connectors to card so using the same cable for both connectors on the card is fine. PSU side of both cable has 8 pins.

I forgot that when I got my PSU I did not use all the cables. Took your advice and looked at the old one and you are correct. There is one 8pin for the psu and two 6+2 connectors on the other end. Thank You!
