So I've been told I should probably get a new PSU that is more practical. I currently have this PSU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438019&cm_re=evga_1000w-_-17-438-019-_-Product

I'm looking at something a little more practical and this one just came on sale today : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-139-084

My currently system build is :

Xeon 1231v3 3.5 GHz
Sapphire R9 380 4GB Nitro
8GB 1866 RAM
7200 1TB HDD
120 GB Kingston SSD
7 Case fans
and the EVGA PSU posted above.

I plan to crossfire the 380 within the next couple of months and I am just looking for enough power for that, and possibly a CPU upgrade to a high-end i5.

What do you guys think? would it be okay to get that PSU, and/or would it be better than whatI have?

I heard the G2 was the lowest tier of the EVGA PSU's. I wanted to go with something a little better like a GS. If you know otherwise toward if I was informed wrongly about that, but I just wanted a nice PSU for possible future builds.

edit: Also, price isn't a huge issue as long as it's not over... say 160-ish.

No, the G2 is the highest tier1. You were told wrong. The GS is second to the G2.
Both are tier 1 but the G2 has better warranty.
Link to tier list in this reply box. Check out tier1.
Your current PSU is tier 3 so it's not that bad. You can use it if you want but the other I mentioned are better quality.

It's a G1. OK quality, made by FSP, but not high enough performance for the transient demand spikes of XF GPUs in a high-performance gaming system.

So, if getting an EVGA PSU, get the G2, and if I want to crossfire those GPU's deff get an 850w. Also, the Gold Plus will be good quality as well?

( I'm also thinking about selling my computer in the future for a 1200$ in the future. It will have about all the same parts just a better CPU xFired GPU's and more cooling (possibly liquid). (Future being a few months as well.. lol )

Will the 850 be enough for that?
