Hello all, recently I have completed my custom built gaming computer, I attempted to power on my computer (using the case power button) and it did not turn on, no fans, no leds, nothing (no bleep codes either). However when I use the paper clip trick, (using the tool the company I bought the supply from) the device powers up. I would like to know how I can resolve this issue. Have I put some cables in incorrectly? Or are there issues with my devices?

Thanks-
Mason

I suspect you don't have a speaker at header nr 14 from that picture before?

The only thing i can think of is getting everything of the motherboard and just power it up with just cpu to see if it gives beeps if you have that speaker. If not could the motherboard just be DOA or the cpu.Make sure the 24 as well as the 8 pin power connectors are attached.

Could be.
I noticed that your motherboard also needs a certain bios (later than 06/30/2014) to support the cpu you chose so it may be that as well although you'd expect that by now you would get a motherboard with it installed.

Your gtx 750 ti is the one with the ACX (=double fan) cooling?
This needs one 6pin to power it,you connected that as well?

Would this cause the PSU not to start up?

No - it should still start up the MOBO as long as the ATX 24-pin and 4pin CPU power cables are connected. But you should connect the GFX power as well.

So did you connect the F Panel to the Com port initially by mistake? I'm wondering if you shorted something on the MOBO when you paperclip started the PSU and started pushing the power and rest buttons - you may have also blew the LEDs on the case too. But that's only if the Com port was powered up.

I am purchasing a new MOBO.

Didn't try an rma?

With a bit of luck when only using a new motherboard will it start (=windows),but most of the times do you have to reinstall windows so make a back up of all data you want in a different pc.When using an oem windows do you need to reactivate it,even when reinstalling for which you might need to make a phonecall to microsoft.
