[SOLVED] Power switch wiring

Hello, I am building a custom case without a front panel and the power and reset buttons will be integrated into the desk.I bought the momentary stitch in the photo but I can't figure out the wiring, it will need only the power SW and Led+/Led- connectors.

I found another similar post where they were saying that it is not possible to use this switch but I found other switch buttons that look identical to mine (second picture).

What motherboard are you using?

Provided that I correctly understand your plans/requirements the integrated power and reset buttons must match the motherboard's pin outs.

You can do this in two ways:

• Look at the datasheet for the button.
• Use a multimeter with diode-test (beep when contact).

The datasheet is probably the best since as it for me look like the button does have built in LED.

No datasheet is available for the button, it is a normal switch with NO, NC, C, L+, L- terminals but I don't understand where I need to solder the cables of the Led+/- and power sw pins. This is basic electronic but I have never studied it.

NC == Normally Closed
NO == Normally Open

Neither of which have anything to do with the power button for a PC.

Is this a momentary switch?

Assuming your original pic is of the actual momentary switch....

Connect the two wires to C and NO.
Pushing the button makes a connection. Releasing the button goes back to NO (Normally Open)
