i was wondering if a Original Dell 500W 7080MT Power Supply is compatible with a inspiron 3470 mini im concerned about frying my board or whether the formfactor is correct

You are correct in being wary about the compatibilities involved....

Very likely that you are dealing with proprietary PSU's even within the same manufacturer.

Ok it a 3.80mhz i3 32gb memory it’s a dell Inspiron 3470 mini I want to upgrade the gpu the card I want to install takes 120watts and recommended a 400watt power supply and the system only has a 200 watt power supply so I read a post saying I could upgrade to a 500watt power supply and I found the one mentioned if this one won’t work if this power supply can you recommend one
