Alright, so the short version: I've built a custom rig, and after several days of troubleshooting, have figured out the issue is somewhere between the GPU and PSU. When running high GPU demand, the entire system hard-freezes/hangs
Is a Seasonic m12II-620W Bronze sufficient to handle this GPU with this spec layout?:
Mobo: Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
CPU: AMD FX-9590
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: PowerColor Radeon R9 290 TurboDuo
HDD: WD Black 1TB
RAM: ADATA DDR3 1600 (2x4G)
The problem: When playing higher demand games (In this case, Shadow of Mordor), the entire computer hard freezes. Stress testing and troubleshooting isolated the issue to the GPU. Due to the fact that it runs lower demand software with no issues, I can only figure that when it tries to draw its full power it isn't getting it. Why its not getting it is beyond me, but I've narrowed it down to a few theories: a) PSU insufficient, b) motherboard's Eco-settings are somehow throttling the power flow.
The long version: I've spent three days running this rig through every possible troubleshooting procedure I can find and the result is the same: Whenever I would run something, it would hard-freeze. No BSOD, just a hard hang/freeze. I've gone looking for power draw stats on this card, and I can't find any other than the manufacturer's suggested 750W, which seems like extreme overkill.
The card runs beautifully, but it just. Keeps. Hard-freezing at a certain stress level. Any ideas, suggestions, and help would be so greatly appreciated.
