I have a terrible wifi signal on the 2nd floor of my house. The router is on the 1st floor.

I currently have 1 ethernet cable running all the way to my room so I can play games without lagging. I am getting tired of constantly unplugging the cable and re plugging it to my xbox/laptop/ps4/desktop.

I am looking at the TP Link av500 ac750 wifi edition.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01CVOM140/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1

I am willing to buy this product or anything similar to improve my connection.

Is this a good product to buy and test or is there something else out there that is better?

The ac750 version extends wifi AND let's me connect by ethernet cable as well? Or is it just to extend wifi?

The performance of powerline networking products varies drastically depending on the power wiring layout, especially when the two endpoints of the network are on different legs of a 2x120V NA-style system. It also varies depending on how much noise household appliances and devices put on the power line and extra attenuation caused by all those devices' EMI filters.

Powerline networking works well for some people and can be hopeless for others. It depends on a ton of factors besides the age of wiring.
Buying a power line adapter if you play a lot of games and need a low to moderate ping in multiplayer games is a far better option.

Most new power line Adapters come with a choice of a wired connection as you know via the electrical ring mane of the house from floor to floor in a case where the wi-fi of the said router is on another level of the house.
But they also have the second option of creating a wi-fi point, access point much closer to the computer you are using on another floor of the house or building you are in.

And will also, or should give you a better ping result and signal strength.

Opt for the fastest set of power line adapters you can afford, but do remember the power line adapters are dependent also on the age of the electrical ring main cable used in the property you are in, the newer the build of the house the chances are you will get a top notch signal via the ring main through Ethernet direct to your Pc, or when using the wi-fi access point of the power line adapter placed in the same room.
