I have pretty crappy wifi signal in my house because i live in an area where the isp only provide connections of up to 10mb/s and my ping is so bad i can usually never get into games online I used a network speed tester and my ping was 58ms. I know ethernet is better but i have no way of getting a cable to my pc. I heard a powerline adapter could work but some people said it was no better. should i get a powerline adapter or not.

You first need to test on ethernet even if you run a cable over the floor for a short time. You need to be sure your internet is working correctly and the problem is actually the wireless.

Powerline devices depend on the wires in your house. Most houses they work ok in but some they refuse to work well...all you can really do is try.

If you were to compare a good wireless signal to a good powerline signal the wireless tends to be faster because it has more bandwidth to start.

Games though do not care about faster they use very little bandwidth, most less than 1m. The thing a game needs is very consistent delivery rates of data and little or no loss. Powerline tends to work better than wireless in these 2 areas since it is less...
