Hello, I've read some things about the Powermod on a GTX 1070/1080. all of the guys have used liquid metal. But why? Let's say, I put solder at the shunt, what would happen? Will it get more voltage? Will it brick?
It will short the resistor and probably the card will "panic".
Liquid metal has some resistance, thats why its being used.
Variable resistor is good alternative.
