Yes indeed - and this is how I'm having to manage the problem - but it's very inconvenient. Other attachments don't give this problem with Thunderbird (my usual email client).
Now a comment for rgd1101:
Can you elaborate on your statement "email app doesn't know how to open it"? How can I get Thunderbird to open such attachments?
I'd welcome further comments from anyone.
