Pre-Built - Upgrading from 32 bit -64 bit

I recently got given a Dell OptiPlex 790 and I was happy with it until i noticed that it was running a 32bit installation of windows 7, I was wondering if I could upgrade it to 64bit , currently i do not know the whereabouts of the original box or paperwork/ instalation disks that came with it I have looked all over the microsoft website and it says you can re-install windows through and advanced system restore but that requires a instilation disk and even then i do not know whether it will provide a option for a 64 bit instilation or just install 32 bit

You can't do an upgrade install from 32 bit to 64 bit. You have to do a clean install. Back up any data to another medium before installing.

The key will work though. You just have to find the 64 bit media.

Where would i find that? is there any way other than the installation disk?

You can run a third party program like majic jelly bean, belarc advisor, or other programs. Type programs to find product keys for windows and you will have a slew to choose from.

No. You will need installation media. It doesn't have to be a dell disk. Any windows 7, 64 bit should do.
