Pre-order now and get a game that goes on sale for sub-$5 very frequently, and some in-game cash that you'd earn in about an hour of gameplay anyway. JOY!

I'll wait. This is going to launch in the middle of this semester, and I won't have time to play it until over summer. So I'll just wait for the summer sale to pick it up. Even a small discount is a discount.

I'm not sure where you live, but in this universe, games don't go on sale for below $5 before they've even been released =P

I'm with ya on waiting until summer, but not for any discount, for driver optimization and patches.

A game that was released on other platforms in 2013 needs until March 2015 for additional polish? Clearly, PC isn't a priority for Rockstar. I'm going to return the favor by waiting for a deep discount.

And if the game requires multiple logins just to play offline single-player (ala Rock Star Social Club for GTA4), then I'm not going to play it.

Is Rockstar Warehouse is Rockstar version of Steam or just an online shop? Do their PC download is in Steam version on or i need to use "another" client to play?

Yeaaaaah lets NOT pre order a game thats been delayed long enough to release a whole new game. Let rockstar sweat it out for treating PC gamers like such crap

I will not pre-order any games. Just look at the state of pre-ordered games in the last couple of years and it is pathetic. They collect your money and then release a half baked game or sometimes a game that has so many flaws it is un-playable on release date. You have to look no further than Assassins Creed Unity or Battlefield 4 to justify this. Release the game and prove to me that is put together with some decent quality and then you get my money.

I am not interested in preordering this old game just for 4k and first person mod.I will buy it during sales when prices go down to around $8.

A free game that costs next to nothing on steam, and free in game currency that breaks the game's natural currency progression. Retarded. I hate when games offer stuff that breaks intended progression of the game. RPGs are the worst offenders of this.

yeah no thx, i don't trust game devs for a sec. ill wait for a good revue. if Ubisoft has thought us anything its that you do not pre-order end of storie. now i do belive a bit more in rockstar but i haw had nothing but problems in rockstars social club so ill wait.

Translation:

"Please buy our game before we release it, so we can have money from you now. We want your pre-orders because we're terrified of piracy which is also why we didn't let it come out until long after all the consoles had their fill, and we'll try to sweeten the deal with a few 'extras'."

No thanks, Rockstar, I'll wait until it's on sale for 10 quid or so by the end of the year.

I'm loving all this hate - you treat us PC gamers like sh1t, and we return in kind. (not just you Rockstar, as others have commented, many other publishers also).

Either way, I'm waiting to see how many 'clients' are required to run it. Need more than just a Steam login? No Sale.

I don't even play my Crysis 3, BF, Street Fighters etc, tired to all the different logins / clients.

You'd think they'd learn....

I'm willing to bet most people interested in gta v for pc already have most if not all the free games offered; I have all except manhunt and midnight club II. I'd rather see a tangible cash discount for a preorder.

Sounds like a good incentive until I remember that I bought Max Payne 3 for £3. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, I think it was fantastically well done, I just didn't get it on release and kind of forgot about it until it recently when it was on sale.

But yeah, as one of the best titles in the offer, I'm not sure it's really much of an incentive, even though I would recommend that everyone play it.

Definitely true of a number of the large publishers (I'm looking at you EA, Ubisoft, and Activision-Blizzard). Occasionally though, you'll get a surprise (like Dragon Age Inquisition where BioWare took a major hit on the chops between Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3's ending and made something like their older games; KotOR, ME 1 & 2, DA: O, BG 1 & 2) or a an Indie that's got a good track record (CD Projekt Red with the Witcher series and the fact that they are not afraid to push things back to get it right which is what they've done now twice with Witcher 3).

Very good point. Unfortunately it is the larger companies that are driving the industry in this direction. Many of the smaller developers are much more responsible and don't cater to the stock market where these larger companies have an interest.
