Hi all.. wanted to know what precautions I should take/consider before burning a windows iso file to a dvd in an infected PC so that the dvd doesn't get any virus/malware during the burning process.

I have installed antivirus and antimalware programs and scanned the system. I used Norton Deluxe, Bitdefender free version and malwarebytes free version, one after another and removed as much as these programs detected. But I doubt that some virus/malware might still be present (right?) as I used the free versions of these programs.

Now I am about to burn windows 10 creators update iso which I got from - http://windowsiso.net/windows-10-iso/windows-10-creators-update-1703-download-build-15063/ (this is a safe site right?)
I scanned this iso file as well and it didn't had anything malicious according to the mentioned programs.

So, I want burn this iso file into a dvd using ImgBurn. Is there anything else I need to do other than virus scan from three programs to make sure the dvd doesn't get infected from any of the remaining undetected virus/malware?
(I know after using three programs, I shouldn't be this paranoid but they are free versions so...)

Solution
i've used the free versions of malwarebytes antimalware for about 8 years and find it to be an excellent program . if the virus/malware was more than just an annoyance it would probably not have allowed you to run clean up programs.. so i would relax a little bit and do as the above poster says.. use microsoft rather than some obscure site for the creation tool :)

nothing of the usual variety . worms and such back in the day of windows 98/xp perhaps.. nowadays its all about trying to enslave your computer or steal your information  not that i am trying to make the OP more paranoid btw!

Please can you confirm that site is not reliable. Because I used my company's PC for the download (it is clean btw) and it won't let us run any exe files. So I cannot run Media Creation Tool in company's PC. And as for my home PC, my download speed is aroung 110 kb/s. So to download a file of 4 GB it takes almost whole day.
That is why I downloaded from that site.

Thanks for the composure :)
But like I said above, I used my company's PC to download as my home PC is dead slow and can't run exe files in company's PC. So is there anyway for confirming that site isn't reliable?

the links for the downloads send you to microsoft so it should be fine

i cannot and will not 100% vouch for any website . not microsoft , google , yahoo or nervousnedsdonkeyderby website. any site can be infected with malware but i personally would take the risk.. what's the worst that can happen ? you have format your drive and reinstall windows ? (open invitation for barrages of comments about fried motherboards , broken kettles and houses falling down)

go for it. . i can't see a problem with the site.

thanks a lot dude :) appreciate that you took your time to download and check the file :)

So, as I have cleaned my PC as much as I could and as this ISO file is safe, I shall continue then. Ill take that little risk and go for it :wahoo:

yes go for it . i've scanned the website , the download , verified the hash of the iso, checked for any reviews or hints of the site being a sham and found nothing . opened the iso.. all is ok :) i'd be quite happy to install it .

Okay. Thanks again :) :bounce:
