My manual says "Align your motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs", so that means I don't need to worry about installing standoffs?

Solution
WAIT! It's possible you MIGHT have to adjust the stand-offs, but maybe not. They MAY be pre-installed just right for your mobo, or may not be. So, with the mobo NOT installed in the case, inspect carefully and compare.

Here's what to look for. Every mobo has several mounting holes. You put a screw through each of those into the threaded holes of a stand-off under it. The mobo is supposed to be grounded to the case at those mounting holes ONLY, and no-where else. Note around each such hole there are tiny metal "fingers' to contact the screw.

Ideally for mechanical support you want a stand-off under each mobo mounting hole. But what's REALLY important is: there must NEVER be a stand-off under the mobo where there is NO mounting hole. A...
Unknown. Some cases come with them pre-installed, other cases just have the threads to install them. The number and position is dependent on the motherboard. There could even be standoffs pre-installed that are NOT needed and have to be removed. There is no universal answer.

it means that you need to install standoffs in the atx case if they are not already installed, also they must be aligned with the 6 holes in the mainboard where the screws should go

be sure to install standoffs, you don't want to see what happens when you don't install standoffs, is fun, and sad, for the owner of the mainboard, sad, fun for the rest of people 😀

I'm using a Corsair Carbide 100r and I called the Corsair hotline and tech support said preinstalled means I don't install them myself since they're already there.

Thanks for the response though guys. Have a great day!

A stand-off in the wrong location can cause a short from the mobo to case. So, compare mobo holes and stand-off positions. Maybe temporarily place the mobo in position over them and verify exact alignment. Move or remove any that don't match up. IF you're lucky and the pre-installed locations are all correct, you don't have any extra work to do. When you have them all correctly located, then you can install the mobo.
