Hello,

I decided to upgrade the CPU of an old Compaq presario Notebook 2106 EA.
The current CPU is an Intel Celeron 1.6 Ghz
Frequency (MHz): 1600
Bus speed (MHz): 400
Clock multiplier: 16
Socket type: Socket 478 (mPGA478)
CPU ID: 0F27h
Core stepping: C1
Processor core: Northwood-256
Manufacturing technology (micron): 0.13
L2 cache size (KB): 256
Core voltage (V): 1.3

I want to ask if the following CPU is compatible for upgrading:

INTEL - Celeron 2,4GHz/128/400 SL6W4
Frequency (MHz): 2400
Bus speed (MHz): 400
Clock multiplier: 24
Package 478-pin FC-PGA2
Socket type: Socket 478 (mPGA478B)
CPU ID: 0F29h
Core stepping: D1
Processor core: Northwood-128
Manufacturing technology (micron): 0.13
L2 cache size (KB): 128
Core voltage (V): 1.25 - 1.525
Case/Junction temperature (°C): 71

Thank you..

That CPU will work fine in that socket but it is a heavily outdated CPU will not offer anywhere near the performance of modern-day CPU's

Thank you very much for your response :)
