Primary HDD undetected

My pc was working flawlessly when I installed windows 10 tp. As soon as i restart the pc, it doesn't detect my primary hdd, so i cant boot the windows. The only drive that my pc detect is the dvd drive and the other hdd. The question is, is it related to the windows 10 or is it my hdd that defects?

I assume you have checked the above info in the BIOS. Most probably your hard drive has malfunctioned. Just disconnect the mobo and hdd and reconnect it. If it doesn't work, swap it with your secondary hdd and try. If it still doesn't work, then most definitely the hdd is gone.

Does the HDD show up in BIOS (maybe with a blank model number)?

Does the drive spin up?

If not, then perhaps Windows has configured the drive to Power-Up in Standby (PUIS).

You could also use HDAT2 to disable PUIS. Just remember to launch it with the /w switch ...
