I tried to update my bios from v. 0515 to v. 0606 using EZUpdate on windows 10. But, bios was stuck for 2 hours, so I tried to restarting my pc and try updating in bios. But, when restarting, I only got black screen and fans running. The monitor does not respond at all. I have tried to use original CD to get to the boot screen, but I still didn't get any monitor response.
Please Help.
Thank You

on bad ami or award flash bios mb the bios may need to be renamed not as the ausu renamer program renames it for usb flashabck. google ami and award bios recovery see if the name has to be. most time it take mor ethen 20 min for the mb to look at usb stick if the bios tries to recover.

I just bought one of these boards (Asus Prime B350 Plus & Ryzen 5 CPU) and have been considering flashing the BIOS from the currently installed version v.0902 to the latest version v.3803 however having read all your problems it scared me silly 🙁

As yet I haven't attempted it but that's partly because I can't figure out how to save a copy of my installed BIOS version. According to the user manual (Page 2-1) Paragraph 2.1 states the following...

"Save a copy o f the original motherboard BIOS file to a USB flash disk in case you need to restore the BIOS in the future. Copy the original motherboard BIOS using the ASUS Update utility"

Where the heck is the ASUS Update utility?

I looked in the BIOS and can't find it there and there's no option to save it using the AI Suite III utility. Anyone know where I should be looking?

Should I just be thankful my board works or should I endeavour to update the BIOS? :??:

Thanks @alexoiu, did you guys load the BIOS default settings prior to attempting flashing? I notice the manual recommends doing this.

Also one other question.., I'm curious why EZ Update doesn't detect anything newer than my current BIOS v.0902. I checked the ASUS website and there's been 4 newer BIOS versions released since mine.

UPDATE!

For what it's worth and if anyone is remotely interested I did eventually update my BIOS from v.0902 to v.3803 a few moments ago using the OS based EZ Update Utility and the update went really well. Presumably having read all the previous horror stories online it seems that maybe the OS based EZ Update Utility is perhaps a safer method to use. If anything else it certainly takes away the worry of things getting screwed up,
