Prime95 Failure

Hello Guys and Gals I am hoping for a little help

When I run Prime95 I get this error

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4

I was overclocking but since trying to make my system stable I have reverted back to default bios settings.

Can anyone suggest where to start?

Should this system run stable at default settings?

If you think screenshots will help let me know and I will post them.

That error is supposed to happen when your overclock is unstable. So, back to the drawing board.

At stock BIOS settings, at stock volts, and at stock RAM timings/settings, you should not get errors in Prime95, assuming your temperatures are ok.

The OC was only on the CPU and it was 2.8Ghz with the VCore set to 1.45.

That is the only change I have made except I had manually set the CAS Timings to 4-4-4-12 which is what my RAM is rated at.

The error occurs almost straight away when Prime95 is run.

What systematic investigation should I do or has anyone got a very similar setup so that I can copy their stable BIOS settings?

Should I set the voltage to the RAM manually or leave on AUTO?

Vcore manually. Make sure all the other stuff like C1E, Virtualization, Speedstep, blah blah is all disabled.

You may want to try boosting vDIMM by +0.1 or +0.2v.

Getting to 2.8 on a 6300 isn't too hard under normal circumstances. Your temps ok?

I think I got on mine:
-vCore 1.325v
-vDIMM +0.1v
-PCI locked at 100
-MCH +0.1v
-vPCI, vFSB stock
-2.0 RAM multi
-Lastly, don't put FSB right at 400....strap change there, hard on your board...go below 395 or above 405. Don't sit it right at 400.
