I wasnt really sure if this is the right category, but yesterday I helped my friend make a printed circuit board and I have a question on the clean up for the chemicals we used. I cant remember what the first chemical was, I think some kind of developer, but the second was PCB echant. Now he took the used chemicals home in a glass container to dispose at a recycle center. What I would like to know is whats the best way to clean these chemicals off my sink area. We used the countertop in my bathroom and some chemical splashed on the counter...I used hot water and pinesol but I dont know if that was the best thing.

Solution
The etch is usually something like feric acid. You can safely neutralize most acids by simply rinsing with a baking soda and water mix. Simply flushing with water would also work since most etching acids are relatively weak.
