Printer appears as a removable disk

Hello,

My Brother MFC 215C printer is driving me crazy. It appears on "My computer" as a disk, and as if it is offline. So it doesn't print, but it scans (from the computer).
System is win7 32.
Installed latest driver for the printer.
Printer has no inserted memory cards.

How can I get it right?

Because the printer has a card reader it SHOULD appear as a disk even when there is no card inserted.

Does the printer show up in the Printers folder?

Yes, it is. But it appears as "offline".

OK, if the printer shows as Offline, then uncheck the Offline mode.

When you see the check mark next to "Offline", click it to uncheck it.
