Hi, yesterday I encountered an error in my printer; it was printing black pages. As had already taken several PC technician courses beforehand, whatsoever it seems to be beyond my power.
The last time I printed a word document, the print was normal expect the last paragraph. I didn’t bother to check, then when I printed a pdf (Yes, I did print with a pdf and it didn't work still) , the print was normal. It was yesterday that the printer was printing blank pages.
PRINTER MODEL; CANON MG5350
Identify and counters to the problem;
1. It can’t be a software problem on the PC, as it has been tested with other computers and also when I do a photo copy it print blanks papers
2. The print head does move for I open while in operation
It leaves me with one thought; the ink is not spilled on the paper. THE PRINTER DOES PROCESS AND SLOWS DOWN when there a lot of characters to print.
Establish a theory of probable cause;
1. Printer head has a lot of dry ink and won’t allow the link to be processed on the paper
Test of theory;
1. The ink is not spilled on the paper; The printing process is normal, it does try to process and formulate the characters but nothing seems to be on the paper. There is ink which is half full.
Plan of action;
1. Printer settings have been reset
2. Removed the print head and cleaned via distilled water
3. 3 Print tests were made unsuccessful after print head cleaning
4. Deep cleaning via printer properties was done and a nozzle check was carried out
The nozzle check yet printed 4 lines of colours; 2 red (one light other more solid) and 2 blue (again) yet no yellow or black of lines were printed. I open word and tried to print some text (in red and blue) but it was unsuccessful.
5. A cleaning was done from the printer properties and another nozzle check with the same previous results
Verification of full system functionality;
1. The scanner works fine, though the printer won’t spill ink.
NOTE; Traces of small black ink are found on some print tests and they are always in the same position of other print tests.
Does anyone have any ideas what further I can do to try and solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
