printer suddely stopped printing in color

My printer has stopped printing in color. I have checked the printer preferences and it is set to print in color. The document color is also set to print in color. Any idea why it prints only in black and white? This is an HP Office Jet Pro 6978 and I am using Windows XP.

If you do a test page from the pinter itself is there color on that page? If not, did you check the ink?

You did verify its not the cartridge, right? Even if it seems full?
