Printing with HP 5610 Office jet All in One

When I copy or scan directly to the printer, the image/ text appears VERY faintly. Scanning it to PC and the printing from MY SCANS gives an excellent result.

Obviously the PC/HP connection is 100% BUT why the bad printing using the HP by itself? It used to work perfectly???
