So a relative of mine gave his used HDD to me for data transfer, I have connected it to my PC through sata port. When I powered up my pc the motherboard leds were on (I guess it was the cpu and dram) and computer didn't boot up so I quickly turned off the pc and removed that HDD.

PC is working fine now but when i power up, the cpu and dram leds are turned on and turn off in 2 secs, and when the dram led turns off a clicking noise is coming from the PSU i think. What do you guys think?

Clicking Noise, That could be coming from the HDD seeking trying to find a boot partition, When you plugged it in, it may have messed up your boot options in bios, meaning your PC is trying to boot from the HDD you just plugged in. If you plug it in and go to bios and change you boot order back to the SSD/HDD you have your OS on, it should boot fine then, unless the drive is bad, I've had bad drives act just like this as well in the past and prevents the system from booting even though its not on the boot order.

Good Luck!
