Hello again, I am back to Tom's forums to get some help again on my home built system. I have a i7 137000k,32 gb of corsair cmk32gx5m2a4800c40 memory, MSI 6950XT GPU, and a couple of 1tb ssd and gigabyte z790 ud ac mobo. The system was stable working great until I updated the gigabyte z790 ud ac Gigabyte Control Center software. BIG MISTAKE, now I know.
After the update my pc booted up to a BIOS error screen that i could not interact with the mouse or keyboard, so i rebooted and got a blank screen, after a few minutes i rebooted and a gigabyte ultra durable screen came up but nothing happened again, so once again rebooted and it came up to a blank screen. I gave up. When booting I noticed that the small mobo error LEDs, that the amber VGA led was on. Also, I had recently password protected my mobo admin account just recently, I hope that doesn't give me more problems fixing this issue.
The GCC update included updating the bios from 8 to 9, so i tried downloading the old working bios to a thumb drive and installing it through the Q Flash utility but still no luck.
I have posted the issue to gigabyte e-support but that was a couple days ago and am now tired of waiting. I appreciate any help or ideas from the Tom's community. Thank you.

What was the GCC update? If it was the BIOS F10 update then ...yeah. I don't think it's necessary to update/flash BIOS when everything is working fine.
Edit - I have the z790 UD. I noticed the BIOS update was offered but unchecked it and left it the hell alone 😀

Edit 2 - Okl nvm, i re-read your post, and see the question is answered.

I believe that the Gigabyte Control Center update would have updated the bios from 8 to9 but at this point I'm putting it off as long as I can. Thanks for the reply.

I don't think you ever have to do it. Just leave the update unchecked.

The only reason to flash BIOS is frankly when someone on this forum tells you to update your BIOS xD
Or after first booting a newly built PC.
Otherwise, if everything is working there is no reason to take risks. BIOS flashing is always a little bit risky.

Other GCC updates and drivers are fine to install.
