I have a cooler master k380 case with an Asus m5a97 evo r2.0 mobo... I have cpu cooler connected to fan1, and a rear fan in fan 2.. The main case fan comes with a molex connetion as standard with an extension lead, I have tried connecting it to Fan 3 the only way I can using all the pins, but it is not working... If i flip it, it has a protrusion that makes it impossible to connect without missing out a pin on the board.. Does anyone know what to do with this?

PS. I have just completed my pc build and am well chuffed..

AMD FX 8350 cpu
Asus m5a97 evo r2.0 MOBO
MSI R9 270X GPU
EVGA 750w G2 PSU
8gb corsair 1600 RAM...

All is working like a charm, but until I sort the fan issue, I'm reluctant to get gaming....

Cheers.

Solution
You don't want to flip it; it should only fit on there one way. Have you tried attaching it to the PSU using the molex? Does it run?
You might try putting it (temporarily) on Fan2. BTW, is there not a "CPU FAN" header for the CPU fan?
If the fan is dead, you'll need to replace it. I'd suggest Corsair or Enermax; or Rosewill on a tight budget.

Cheers mate. I had to unplug the fan extension from the MoBo and connect direct to the PSU, but job done. It didn't work with the extension plugged in aswell as PSU, ???? but no probs, it's cooling and thats what I need...
Been playing Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, and am loving it...

Cheers for the help/
