Hi everyone,
I recently installed a new ssd into my laptop, with the hope of making the operating system boot up quicker. However after installing it and using macrium reflect to (copy?) the operating system and stuff, I swapped the ssd with the regular hard drive to test if the laptop turns on with everything on it and this is where the problem arose, as it failed to start up. What the PC says exactly is;
"Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired.
The application operating system couldn’t be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
File:\windows\system32\winload.efi
Error code: 0xc0000225”.
But when I put in the original hard drive in the optical drive through a caddy everything seems to work fine but the load times are still the same. I've also tried to go into bios and check if the boot order is wrong, but it doesn't seem to be.
My guess is that I missed something out when I copied the hard drive to the SSD, but I made sure that all the ones with a windows logo in the corner were to be copied in the SSD. The only file that I left out was one labeled as “6 – Recovery (none) NTFS Primary” this was because there was no space left in the SSD, but I figured it will still be kept in the hard drive.
Here is a list of the six partitions if anyone was interested, I left out the last one as there was no space left in the SSD;
1. SONYSYS(None) FAT32 (LBA) Primary
2. Windows RE tools (None) NTFS Primary
3. (Has a windows icon next to this) NO NAME FAT32 (LBA) Primary
4. (Has a windows icon next to this) NONE Unformatted Primary
5. (Has a windows icon next to this) (C: ) NTFS Primary
6. Recovery (None) NTFS Primary
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
