I have a Lexmark XS463de AIO laser printer. It prints fine except when I'm trying to print from Firefox. The document reads busy on the printer and it never recovers. Google said to reset Firefox print settings. I clicked on the button but it didn't fix the problem. Any thoughts on what a fix might look like? Thanks in advance.

This:

"Google said to reset Firefox print settings. I clicked on the button"

What button?

What document file type?

Document source?

Any related error codes in Reliability History and/or Event Viewer when documents fail to print and the printer does not recover?

More information needed.

If you go into Firefox, click on the hamburger icon in the upper right, choose Help, select more troubleshooting information, go down to printing and click the gray button Clear Saved Print Settings. Doesn't do anything. The doc type starts as a PDF. At that point I can either download it then print it as a PDF and it works fine, or I click on the image and it will open it up in Firefox with a very long URL that is not a PDF. If I try to just print it from there that's when I have the issue. There are no error codes outside of 'busy'. Thanks.

In Firefox go to the hamburger icon, select Settings.

Scroll down to the Applications section and within that window scroll down through the "Content Type" column.

For "Portable Document Format (PDF)" what Action is indicated there?

What is the current Firefox setting now?

(My setting, for example, is "Open in Firefox".)

You should be able to click within that column field to reveal a list of other choices.

Try what seems to be the most applicable. Otherwise you may need to experiment and test a bit.

Either to solve the problem directly or obtain more information that may provide some further clues.

I switched it from Open in Firefox to use WIndows default application. I also chose open with adobe acrobate and It didn't change the behavior. I think I'm just going to download PDFs in Firefox if I want to print them since there doesn't seem to be a straightforward solution. As a last ditch effort I'm going to increase the printer memory. Thanks.
