[Problem] SyncMaster XL2370:Horizontal line across display (sometimes the line cut in half the screen)

Hi, I have a Samsung SyncMaster XL2370, the monitor works perfectly fine, but it has a line down the screen. It looks like this:

The monitor got a bit wet before the line appeared, so that may be the root of the issue, but the screen doesn't show any sign of humidity, just that white line across the screen.

What it is strange is that the line now it's half the screen and it doesn't cross completely the screen as before (second image), but it is still there, sometimes it becomes like what it was (Crossing the entire screen) and then gets cutted in half again.

I don't know what is going on here, but I would like to know if this is a display fail or a flex/capacitor issue inside the monitor.
Since the first case is costly to repair then it would be better to just get another monitor, but because the line sometimes doesn't cover the whole screen then I'm not sure if it's a display issue.
If it is the second one then I would try to dissasamble the thing and replace the capacitors/flex.

Any help is apreciated!

I doubt it's a capacitor issue but rather a damaged panel. You spoke of wet, how did that happen to your display? On another note, does that line appear when you're in BIOS or in Safe Mode or when you're logging into GUI after the lock screen? If not, then see if a driver uninstallation and reinstallation changes things for you.

Thanks for the answer! The monitor got wet because I went outside to clean up the dust from my computer and the monitor.
I needed to go to a place that I did forgot at the time and since I was in a hurry I left the monitor outside of the house (luckily I finished cleaning the computer so I left it in the house again). When I arrived there was a rain that didn't last long, but was enough to get the monitor wet, I passed a soft cloth around it to dry it off, then I connected it and worked perfectly, I don't recall having the horizontal line that day, I noticed it the next one at the evening.

About BIOS I'm pretty sure it's not a computer problem, because the monitor has a "Select a Source" mode which displays HDMI, DVI, Etc... and in that screen the line was still there, I tried others devices with HDMI connections on the monitor (like my HD TV Receiver) and the line persisted.

If it's a damaged panel, then that means that it would be better to just buy another monitor instead of replacing the whole screen? Thanks!
