Question Problem updating 2012 Asus AM3+ mobo with TPM 2.0 module

I have this mobo: ASUS M5A99X Evo 2.0 AM3+ which takes a 20-1 (19 pin + a purposeful dud pin) & I'm attempting to use a TPM2.0-9665 20-1 module on it, which has worked for me on the P9X79 (Intel chipset released a year prior) but this one is giving me a problem!

I installed the module & when I go to the BIOS the TPM support can be enabled but there is a second option to enable the TPM State. It says to save the settings & reboot to make them stick but when I go back to the BIOS it keeps putting the TPM State back to disabled. The BIOS is the latest one from May 2014 that Asus provided.
UEFI is enabled + I attempted to temporarily disable secure boot, wiped the boot keys (after saving them to reload afterward) but nothing works. All Legacy settings were disabled but still nothing.

This gentlemen seems to have figured out which TPM is compatible with an AM3+ mobo: [ Thread from tulaneksig ]
I'm not able to continue that thread to ask its OP which one he purchased.

Does anyone know of a 20-1 pin TPM 2.0 module that will specifically work with Asus AM3+ mobos (using DDR3 memory) from that era?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

If you read through the thread you'd linked, you'll see that OP used a TPM 1.2 module. If you do your due diligence with www searching you'll see that TPM2.0 isn't supported on your platform or of that era(even for Intel). You can find TPM 1.2 modules off of Aliexpress if you're interested in getting it to work, but your mileage can and will vary.

You should probably upgrade if you're looking at installing Windows 11, which by the way will be a decade old once 2025 rolls in, ushering in Windows 12.

Lastly, we don't allow thread necromancy which is why you can't continue that conversation on the thread you've linked above.

Actually in the post I linked he states he got the TPM 2.0 module to work & it passed the W11 check but failed the check for his CPU. W11 isn't an issue because I can get around the check but that's not the question I posed. The question was for a specific TPM 2.0 module that works with an AS3+ mobo which that person apparently found.
