Hi guys.

I have a ROG Strix B365 G Gaming Motherboard.
It requires an 8-pin power connector for the CPU but my power supply only has 4-pins.
Can I plug in half of the 8-pin connector ? My CPU is an i3-9100F

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Thumbrule with building PC's is if your PSU lacks the necessary connector for your build, you have;
1| The wrong PSU for the job
or
2| The wrong parts for your build.

That being said, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

You can try, it's not going to ruin anything, 4pin works in only one particular half of 8 pin socket, make sure you find right half without forcing it. Other option is finding 4 to 8pin ATX 12v adapter if your PSU is up to scratch.

Specifics are necessary. I would be highly suspicious of any PSU that didn't at least have a single 4+4 CPU connector; it's either a very small form factor, more than a decade old, or junk, or possibly more than one of these categories.

As @CountMike says you can plug in the 4-pin. Since power draw will be limited then check if it's able to handle full load on the CPU. Monitor 12V drop and if wires / connector getting hot. Should be able to reduce CPU TDP to accommodate if necessary.
