problem with a second monitor

everytime i go off i turn off the second monitor and everything (browser, folders etc that is on the desktop) goes to the main monitor.
just disconnect the monitor from the pc like i unpluged it (plays the sound)
is it a setting or something that i have to change?

specs if it matters:
i5 4460, 280x oc, 8 ram
the main monitor is dell p2414h and the second is dell e2316h
the main monitor is connected to the gpu with DVI to hdmi cable and the second with port cable.

port cable? you always need a desktop screen which should be number 1. try identifying the monitors . second one must be number 2 . is it extended desktop or a dublicate? also dont use auto icon / thumbnail arrangement on desktop properties

my main screen is identified as 1 and the second is 2, i mean it disconnects when i turn off the screen by the button, not actually disconnecting him
i had other second monitor before this one and it wanst like that
and sorry, i meant its connected with display port cable (the second one)
