I've bought a new GPU but my motherboard is quite old (I think it was from 2012) and I've never updated it. The BIOS version is F3. What version do I need to update so the video card is compatible? Because I've searched and I think the version needed is like " 86.07.22.00.50" and in the support of my motherboard the versions are like F2, F3, F4, F5... Is it incompatible or what?

Solution
Hi,

First of all you should update your Chipset IMEI enginge (Intel Management Engine Interface )
It doesn't matter whether or not you already have the latest version, just re-install: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H61M-DS2V-rev-20#support-dl

Then restart the computer and run Windows update (Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows update).

Bios: The latest version is F6b 2014/02/25
You can easily find your current version by enter Bios Setup menu or download Free Speccy:
Obs! make sure to untick any third party s/w: [url=https://www.piriform.com/speccy]https://www.piriform.com/speccy

In case of Bios update when it says "Beta BIOS" just disregard this. This is the message when they first released it, and that was more than 3-years ago.
You need...
But the problem is: Necessary versions for the GPU are like XX.XX.XX.XX.XX (X are numbers) and versions of Gigabyte are like FX, FX, FX... How I know the correlation? Thanks for answering

where are you reading this: 86.07.22.00.50
are you sure you are not looking at the bios versions for the GPU?

normaly the mb bios version has little to do with what gpu you have installed.

You need the latest Bios. Period.

And then we can go from there if there are still problems.

Solution
Do not overdue, just update to the latest version.
Never do it step by step.

In the manual https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H61M-DS2V-rev-20#support-manual
PDF page 19/40
There are two ways to upgrade Your BIOS:

To upgrade the BIOS, use either the GIGABYTE Q-Flash or @BIOS utility.

Q-Flash allows the user to quickly and easily upgrade or back up BIOS without entering the operating ••system.
@BIOS is a Windows-based utility that searches and downloads the latest version of BIOS from the Internet ••and updates the BIOS.
It is recommended that you not alter the default settings (unless you need to) to prevent system ••instability or
other unexpected results. Inadequately altering the settings may result in system's failure to boot. If this occurs, try to clear the CMOS values and reset the board to default values. (Refer to the "Load Optimized Defaults" section in this chapter or introductions of the battery or the clear CMOS jumper in Chapter 1 for how to clear the CMOS values.)

I strongly recommend Q-Flash method.
