Problem with cursor

Hello, I have a strange problem with my cursor. After a few hours of using pc, sometimes cursor changes shape and becomes "ugly" (random purple pixels around, looks worse than windows 95 one) or/and changes shape (and looks like elipse or text cursor). Also when it happens, my pc starts to lag and freeze randomly for few seconds. After restarting, problem disappears. My video card is GTS 450 and i'm using Windows 7 64bit. What may cause this problem ?

Sounds like an overheating problem. Make sure your fans are all working.
