Problem With MSI.DLL

Hi, I have this very specific problem, it currently won't let me install anything new, like iTunes and inventor pro just because msi.dll is not working. I have a specific error message that pops up after booting and logging in. Here it is:
C;\Windows\SYSTEM32\msi.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the orginal installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f.
Please help, I can't run any office programs. This is a home pc, I've tried resetting it, I've tried restoring it, startup repair, and downloading the dll and replacing it. Sadly none of them work. Any ideas?

Have you tried performing a system restore if the issue cropped up after a mandatory windows update. If you are experiencing this issue from the get go(after installation) then try a repair install and see if you can make progress. You may also want to rule out your installer by recreating your bootable USB installer and moving forward with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've just reinstalled windows on another hardrive and moved my important files. I looked at some other forums, because it seems this is more oriented towards hardware problems rather than software problems. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Looking around, even Microsoft run away from questions like this.

I would suggest backing up your files and doing a reset of windows 10, that should resolve it.
