Problem with my new graphics card

Alright, so I have recently bought a Asus strix geforce gtx 970 graphics card. I install the card and then i just get stuck at a simular screen like this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/891/c01413989.jpg exept it only shows V 1.2 or somthing like that in the bottom left corner with a strange beeping sound comming from inside the computer. I'd appreciate all the help I could get

Did you connect power to the video card, connect your monitor cable to the video card and have you disabled the onboard or switched default display to the graphics card in the bios?

I have connected the power to the card and my monitor to the card but I have not changed anything in the BIOS
