Problem with netgear wndr4300

this router has throttled my internet speed to 2.04 or below, while my normal speed is 20/2.5 QoS is DISABLED, scheduling is disabled as far as ive seen, this is after countless resets of router and modem, even 3 SEPARATE factory resets on the router. the speed is still under 1/10th of the ISP offered speed. after cable tech checked lines, he says the router is the cause, checked with a backup Ethernet, and sure enough my 20.14 Mbps internet works fine direct from modem. this router has worked fine with this modem since at least October of last year. about a week ago my speeds dropped off abruptly, YouTube began buffering, u torrent slowed to a crawl and all internet games ground to a halt. seemingly out of nowhere my 150$ gigabit router cant manage 20Mbps. anyone who has any ideas please come forward, ive been at this hellish problem for at least 4 hours and i have no idea what the cause is.

No direct answer for you but there is a path to follow.

I wondered if maybe there was a firmware update to your router. You did not mention such and I did not note any recent firmware updates via Netgear's website.

thank you, the cable guy showed up and replaced a coax in the wall, and my problems went away. turns out that somehow the cable was unshielded (thanks shoddy builders)
